Solutions
Dilution & molarity
Solve one unknown in C₁V₁ = C₂V₂ with compatible unit conversion, calculate diluent volume, build serial-dilution tables, or convert between solution mass and molarity.
Relative expression
qPCR ΔΔCt
Paste or upload CSV columns sample, group, gene,Ct. Choose Livak or Pfaffl, inspect high-Ct and replicate-spread flags, and download results.
DNA and RNA
Sequence tools
Process plain sequences or multi-record FASTA with IUPAC ambiguity codes. Report complement, reverse, reverse complement, transcript, length and GC%. Primer Tm is Experimental.
How to use
- Choose a workflow tab.
- Enter values, paste or upload CSV, or paste FASTA.
- Review units, method, intermediate values and flags before using an output.
Worked example
For a 10× stock, enter 10 as the stock concentration, 1 as the final concentration and 100 mL as the final volume. The dilution equation gives 10 mL stock and 90 mL diluent; confirm compatible units before preparing a solution.
About and limitations
The toolkit runs locally and supports planning and exploratory analysis, not diagnostic decisions. Dilution cannot convert between mass and molar concentration without molecular weight. qPCR assumes correctly identified groups and genes; flags are prompts for review, not automatic exclusions. GC% counts G and C over all IUPAC positions. Primer Tm does not test specificity, dimers or secondary structure and remains experimental. See methods and formula provenance.
Frequently asked questions
Does the Plant Lab Toolkit upload my data?
No. Calculations, pasted CSV data and sequence processing stay in this browser tab.
Which qPCR methods are available?
The qPCR tab supports Livak 2−ΔΔCt and efficiency-corrected Pfaffl calculations.
Is primer Tm validated for experimental use?
No. Primer Tm remains experimental and requires domain review; it does not assess specificity, dimers or secondary structure.
Can dilution convert mass concentration to molarity?
Not without molecular weight. Use the molarity workflow when molecular weight is known and keep units consistent.
Does an outlier flag remove a qPCR replicate?
No. Flags identify values for review; exclusion requires a documented experimental reason.
